For that matter, will we really be surprised, as a country with the death penalty, if a country without due process starts killing some of its "worst offenders" to make room available for more? 500 beds can only house so many... We are on a slippery slope, we need to fight it NOW, not debate words!!

We do ourselves no favors pretending things aren't that bad, or aren't going to get that bad, or haven't been that bad. Remember, the Nazis learned from OUR example of how Blacks were treated in the American South. Will we really be surprised if this caged population isn't soon forced to work too?

There's already reporting of not enough food or clean water for the folks held in custody in other places. Folks held in cages in hurricane prone lands WILL drown. Mosquito-borne disease will run rampant. Remember, the gas chambers were only the final solution. Many died of disease first.

We will only win if we do the work to fight back. We do ourselves no favors by pretending things aren't as bad as they are. People are already dying in ICE custody. People are being taken without due process. The for-profit prisons that stand to massively gain are fighting to pay less than $1/day.
