That's a big pb for phages (and AB)
Life adapts
Nothing will stop that
On the other side, from what I see, hygiene is often forgotten in hospitals
We have to attack pathogens from all sides : phages, AB and hygiene

And the time needed to write all those grants requests...

Right... I've been too far
Perhaps France is also a special case. As you say, quite hierarchical & frozen due to paucity of funds

Yet I'm always surprised when someone is PI on 10 papers (or more) per year. Can't imagine working meaningfully on 10 projects+ all other asides every year

Few ppl remember maths beyond linear equations a couple of years after university
Economists are no different
It's a big deal to ask them. They are not mathematicians
Not enough high paying jobs for mathematicians btw

I never understood how PIs that spend 5 min here & there in meetings can have their names on the paper as last author
In 99% of cases their contribution is not meaningful to the project. They are rewarded for being gatekeepers, life-or-death by funds allocation, but many times not by science

Une question de facturation ?

Like for most engineering protections solutions
But often forgotten
Thank you for pointing it!
And pls thank your sister

What would be chilling is compliance without a good legal fight, item by item

For bacteria, yes

Always the case
Lots of blood shed for ending Algerian independence war
And I'm not even talking about revolution
Even today we regularly have dead & maimed

Well, you might be right on current protests
On past protests, I think that Vietnam, civil rights, & a few other movements were somewhat successful

I believe that as "reforms" will bite we will see more
I just can't fathom how much misery will fall on ppl with medicaid/food stamps/research/etc cuts

Very glad to see that HAI are being addressed! This is a good step towards understanding transmission

Seen from Europe, there seems to be a very muted pushback in the US against the very stupid rules being made
Is it only an impression of general acceptance, or is there a fight brewing?

Not into conspiracies but other sources are much less categoric

Poisoning over 4 wks & 180km would be a "fantastic" case study
If index patient died after eating bat it's quite interesting
Everything is unclear & "poisoning" is a scenario at this time

Total respect for the ppl on the ground
My issue is more higher up. It would not be the first time info changed substantially between actual & reported to the press. Lots of politics up there

Has anyone seen some report substantiating this or is it just an idea in the air or a smokescreen?

Pourquoi la propagation ralentirait elle ? Rien n'est fait pour ralentir la maladie. Pas une seule mesure. Et les tests ne sont pas une mesure de prévention mais un outil statistique
