What about the cultural exchange? The melting pot? You help your neighbours learn english, maybe they can teach you some of their language? Maybe share some food, desserts, music, movies.... Plenty of fun to be had with foreign neighbours.

One of my favourite FF movies is the norwegian "The Trollhunter" from 2010. Genuinely tense moments, great acting, fun writing, great monster designs and superb effects.

It's so fascinating to see how they dealt with things we now take for granted. One of my favourite examples is 'racing the beam' to draw graphics for the atari. You had to hide code executions before the cathode ray reached the visible screen.
