The richness of information straight from the source is one of the advantages of using social media as early signal detector.

I’m wondering why not using participatory surveillance data and HCW verification reports (e.g. Epicore) as additional layers for these novel data sources. I believe they offer unprecedented inputs especially by serving as community-based and event-based surveillance approaches.
