Auf dem Bild ist eine ruhige Winterszene in einem Waldgebiet zu sehen. Im Mittelpunkt steht ein kleiner Hund, der auf einem schmalen, leicht verschneiten Waldweg steht. Der Weg zieht sich in sanften Kurven durch den Wald und ist von einer dünnen Schneeschicht bedeckt, unter der noch Laub, Erde und einzelne Steine sichtbar sind. Die Fahrspuren oder ausgetretenen Pfade im Schnee deuten darauf hin, dass dieser Weg regelmäßig genutzt wird, möglicherweise von Spaziergängern oder Forstfahrzeugen. Der Hund hat ein überwiegend weißes Fell mit auffälligen schwarzen Abzeichen an den Ohren. Er trägt ein rotes Geschirr, das sich deutlich vom hellen Schnee und den gedämpften Naturfarben der Umgebung abhebt. Seine Körperhaltung wirkt aufmerksam und wachsam.
