I believe in character, real conversations where we can learn and disagree…and (call me crazy) I believe a better world is possible.
I have to say, the bro marketing podcast boys salivating around Poilievre is pretty cringe.

If dollars were seconds, $100,000 is the equivalent of 1.16 DAYS.
$2.5 trillion in spending to give the wealthy tax cuts is the equivalent of 79265 YEARS.

The top 1% will receive ~ $1.1 trillion of YOUR money in tax cuts, but services to Veterans Affairs, Medicaid, etc are being cut.

Seems fair.

1. In states across the country, education officials are turning public schools into Christian indoctrination centers.

A new state-created K-5 curriculum that received preliminary approval in Texas quizzes Kindergartners on the order of creation in the Book of Genesis.

Bartos: There is a pattern here of smearing people who President Trump has nominated

Rampell: A smear suggests that somebody went back in time and called the police retroactively about this alleged sexual assault.

I don't want to sound alarmist or anything, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to skip FBI background checks and bury congressional ethics reports about nominees to the most important posts in the federal government.

One of the things that angers me most about the Trump era is that none of what he or his party are doing is deemed precedent. Meaning: if any future Democratic Congress or POTUS does even 0.1% of what Trumpism has done, you’ll be able to hear media and the GOP howling from Mars.

And we all know it.

Word of the Day, should you need it, is ‘latibulate’, a 17th-century verb meaning to find a corner somewhere and hide in it.

BREAKING: John Bolton, who served in every Republican WH administration since Reagan, says today is not a good day and calls Trump picking Matt Gaetz as Attorney General the "worst cabinet pick in American history."

Whoa.

Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. A better alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform. And before y’all start, you can transfer all your Goodreads data to Storygraph so you literally have no excuse.

The President has no unilateral power to create new government "Departments."

All he can do is create an "Office" within the White House (like Bush and the "Office of Homeland Security" after 9/11).

Actual "Departments" with actual powers require Congress to enact (filibuster-proof) legislation.

Reviving (and making free) a second report on Gaetz from April 2021 at PROOF (see last post for the first such report):
New Developments Inextricably Link Trump to Gaetz Case
Links between Trump and the ongoing federal criminal investigations into Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) are now too many, too varied, too profound, and too bizarre to ignore.

Better to show up a little bit daily than a lot once in a while. Helps you minimize the effect of the "spacing grade", the time between practice sessions where your skill degrades. #mindset #excellence #highperformance

Hi BlueSky! I don’t believe life is black and white, nor that we have to agree on everything, but I do believe respectable conversation and an attitude of positivity and empathy goes a long way. Nice to meet you.
