Made no such assumption. The fact you mention a term like ‘food desert’ proves the point - on average food in Europe is objectively better. There is no moral judgement in that. That’s not the fault of people who lack choices. Nor does it mean there is no room for improvement in either place.

Ultra high processed foods make up over 50% of the average US diet, often with artif’l ingredients banned in Europe.
Additives like brominated vegetable oil, many dyes etc, are banned in the EU but legal in the U.S. There’s good food in the US, but Amer’n food is uniformly worse.
