"His last tour of duty in Germany, was when I visited the Dachau concentration camp. 40 years later, the memory of seeing the ovens of the crematorium up close, and standing in what looked like a shower room, but was actually a gas chamber still haunts me.

The warrantless searches by ICE/Gestapo are one of the means likely to enable the latter. Invading a home where they have no reason to expect "law enforcement" will lead to someone shooting at an agent.

My dad wasn't great. He has demons from what he experienced in Vietnam, but I never heard a misogynistic word from him.
My mother is a strong, independent woman and like most couples, they fought plenty. Loud, angry arguments, and he was still her biggest supporter.
Misogyny is not inevitable.
