This is sad, but thanks for posting it. I will always remember him as the portrait that was hanging in the office. Seeing him sitting in front of it while we sat and talked always seemed hilarious to me. Ať je mu zem lehká.

To be fair, I had actually misremembered it as Bill Covaleski (the other Victory co-founder) being the ODBC guy, and only got it straightened out when I went to check my spelling of his name.

PS - Victory also tried (in 2014-ish) to open a tasting room in Leesburg. I think the problem was that the sewer system downtown would not support a brewery of any significant size, so they abandoned the plans. (www.brewbound.com/news/victory...)

Victory is related (in a sense) to Old Dominion. Ron Barchet (one of the Victory co-founders) was "brewmaster" (their term, not mine!) at Old Dominion in the early days, through a rapid growth phase that saw them grow tenfold. Not sure if that's the connection you needed...
