I like to choose a costume that challenges me to learn something new. That way it’s a learning experience and I may find a new skill I enjoy for the next one.

Azalea Fell’s husband is fighting in the war, but she can’t fight the pull of the scarlet temptress who holds a dark secret close to her chest.

That said, yeah with how little we have to help cat heart issues, I’d say we fared better here… Having lost two to it already my heart nearly stopped when he said that might be it. He did start Vincent on an anti-coagulate to help prevent future issues with his heart, so here’s hoping asthma is all.

It’s actually a human inhaler that goes in a chamber for cats, so I can get it from a regular pharmacy. When the vet prescribed it he said “it’s significantly cheaper to get it online from Canada but because of… current… events…. That may not be possible.” It was, in fact, not possible. 🥲

Oh gosh my old vet in Winston told us we may have to take Vincent to a specialist out in Cary, but his issue turned out to be asthma rather than heart-related so we lucked out with that, if you can really call having to buy $180 inhalers lucking out. 😅

And there’s so little you can do to even find out if they have it to begin with… It’s so damn scary.

We lost two litter mates a year apart from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. The first one was so sudden and scary and made everything feel so helpless we constantly lived in fear of a litter mate also having it so when it happened it wasn’t so much as the rug being pulled out as the world itself.

Adding in to all of that merely existing is costing more every day… there’s no way to get comfortable anymore… I’m wishing you the best. 🫂

I feel that so much. We had to use husband’s entire bonus to pay off vet bills and as soon as we did, we started getting hit with them again. It feels less like treading water and more like drowning on air. Every time I drive somewhere I hope this isn’t the day my tires give out.

I’m so sorry… we’ve had a rough year for cats, too and it never gets easier…

Her bills have reached $2,000, so I’m going to be trying to put more items on offer to help pay her bills. I can’t put that whole burden on her adopter, but we also are just getting by.

Her name is Galadriel. She was born on May 28 and I helped her mother give birth. She is scheduled to go to her forever home in a couple weeks, but is facing complications from her spay procedure. I’m heartbroken and I know her forever home is, too.

So thank you again to everyone who has helped, offered to help, liked a post, or shared my shop link. You’ve done more than I can truly express to help.

Our own cats are something of the scratch and dent variety, that would be deemed too much for limited shelter funds. We’ve taken in cats with conditions and rehabbed feral kittens to be house cats, and when they’ve been a case too difficult, we’ve given them a safe, warm, loving home with us.
