Let's chat about something nerdy.

A Tabaxi walks into a tavern after a long day of adventuring.

Bartender: 'What'll it be, mate?"

Tabaxi: "An ale. Something dark."

Bartender: *Pours the drink*

Tabaxi: *Slowly bats it off the edge of the counter*

Tabaxi: "Another!"

Any of y'all have a favorite dice tray?

Thinking about finally getting one, but want something easy to toss in the nerd stuff backpack and take with.

Once again have fallen asleep listening to an audiobook and must spend time searching for the correct spot to resume.

Have been hearing hype for Stormlight Archives for a long while, so finally decided to read it, but it was a struggle.

Really enjoyed Mistborn (both eras), Elantris, and the various Sanderson novellas but had to fight tooth and nail to get through this one.

Still running weekly DnD sessions but usually poke through other systems to plan future projects and explore other options.

In the mood for hard sci-fi and started flipping through #CoriolisRPG. It's... gah... want to like it but the layout and formatting make it a slog.

The hour is late as five DnD players crawl into their beds after a long session.

Alone at the table, a GM sheds a tear while erasing the dungeon from the vinyl battlemap... bittersweet feelings swell because the group got so caught up on backstories and roleplay in town they only explored one room.

Can't believe "No ChatGPT at the DnD table please" is a houserule that needs considering... but here we are.

Silly nitpick, but the narrator of this audiobook says H. U. D. every time instead of HUD, and it's oddly immersion breaking.

And it's a sci-fu book that constantly mentions things on the heads-up display...

What's your favorite pantheon to use in DnD campaigns?
February 9, 2025 at 11:35 AM
Have launched the aforementioned Nentir Vale DnD 5e campaign starting with Reavers of Harkenwold and leading into homebrew sandbox stuff.

Have a Pact of the Fiend Warlock and am looking for little favors with adverse consequences that the patron may ask of them.

Good GMs are prepared for everything.

Great GMs are prepared for anything

Should probably get around to making actual content again instead of stupid puns, but this post says otherwise:

Didn't make a resolution or anything but so far have finished an audiobook each day since the New Year.

Mostly sci-fi... things like the Southern Reach trilogy, the Themis Files trilogy, some Michael Crichton, and now Service Model.

Taking recommendations if you have any favorite audiobooks.

What was the last 'dungeon' your DnD campaign visited?

Do you know why the Hand of Vecna requires you to cut off your own?

Because there's no wrist for the wicked...

Turns out the Wizard cantrip... but Thieves' Cant

At first, the players were clearly unhappy about how much Difficult Terrain was being used in this DnD campaign.

But they're slowly getting over it...

Pressing forward with the plan to run the next DnD campaign in Nentir Vale. So, the Points of Light setting from D&D 4e but using D&D 5e rules.

Compiling resources and maps to have a framework in place and then just gonna let the party start Reavers of Harkenwold and flow into a homebrew sandbox.

Describe your DnD character without using their Race or Class.

Respond to comments by trying to guess their Race and Class.

Honestly considering running a sandbox campaign using the DnD 4e 'Points of Light' concept.

Using the Nentir Vale is tempting and Reavers of Harkenwold is supposed to be a fantastic adventure but even just some homebrew with the same vibes sounds fun right now.

Captured Hobgoblin: *Refuses to answer questions*

Barbarian: *Chops off its foot with axe*

Party: "What'd you do that for?!?"

Barbarian: "Relax. Use the Mending spell"

Cleric: "That's not how it works...at all"

Barbarian: "It says a break or tear one foot or less...?"

Looking for recommendations on #DnD / #TTRPG creative types for this starter set. Dice makers are welcome but also hoping to see trinkets, crafts, and other goodies.
