Maths. Curriculum, leadership interests.
Small but important opinion- “Can I have..” is the only acceptable way to ask for a coffee in a coffee shop.

“Can I get…” is only acceptable when ordering to go, and even then you’re on shaky ground imo.

Shared some Don Steward at the Dept meeting yesterday. Not saying this is low floor high ceiling but after we’d generalised the sequences and seen there was still more to do, the dam broke and that was basically the end of the meeting!

Used something from Don Steward today. It was obviously brilliant of course.
I now make a habit on first use, of telling the class about him and his resources. Such a loss. Great man.

Hey Maths people.
One of my Ukrainian students wrote this answer for roots of a graph. I know comma format is OK for decimals, but I immediately saw these as co-ordinates without brackets. Should I have a conversation with them about using points not commas where graphs are involved?

So, which colour is my son’s geography book? What colour SHOULD it be?

I’m convinced @bennewmark.bsky.social is working for BlueSky. All us new #Edusky people having just a few followers means that our timeline is completely spammed by his retweets, thereby convincing us to add more followers!
