Hi, just call me Magnus. A mostly closeted bear who likes reading, news, culture, art, and…well dudes. Until I am totally out (financial and professional reasons) this is my little space to hopefully build some community.
Most assuredly agree

AI drones to fly with jets, never seen that before but feels very sci-fi…kind of like the drones in the movie Oblivion

Thinking about retirements and turnover in Congress, am article from NPR about the 10% of members who are not returning net year. A really big turnover and for many getting out of what feels dysfunctional.

The question is who will replace them. Grown ups or sycophants?

More than 10% of Congress won't return to their seats after 2026
NPR is tracking the record number of congressional lawmakers — now more than 1 in 10 current members — who have announced plans to retire or run for a different office in 2026.

It makes me think there needs to be some ultimately new liberation, something beyond lived structures. But, how do you seek and find this in an embodied world where one cannot escape subjection to economic/political/social realities? I simply don’t know, but continue to read hoping to find out.

I am not sure what said liberation looks like. At the base level it would be living my individual realities together and trying to grapple with them as a whole. But, would that be sufficient? Can compromise be found where the larger social/economic forces in which we live are beyond my control?
