Absolute crime that there wasn’t a window in the end wall. The sunsetting through the woods makes the most amazing light, even though the small slither that is there now. Double glass doors is really going to change the entire feel.

I guess I should give some thought to a kitchen.

So a coffee machine and a dishwasher… did I forget anything?

All ready for the pet electrician to come do the kitchen wiring layout.

Then insulation, install ply, gyprock, then move on to next wall… sigh…

Not every problem can be solved with a laser, except this problem which I totally solved with a laser:

Technically this is a useful tip shop purchase. Scaffolding is probably more sensible than some of ladder based shenanigans I have done…

I bought a citrus juicer at the opshop this morning and wouldn’t you know it, life hasn’t given me a single lemon all day…

I’m not sure about the temperature difference the insulation has made yet, but acoustics are much better…

I’m starting to realize why people just have a flat ceiling.

I wonder what it’s like to not choose the most difficult option every time?

Worlds least interesting jigsaw puzzle. The only interesting part is that you have to be on a ladder to put the pieces in place…

Banana and yogurt for my tired and grumpy inner toddler (and my angry old man digestive tract).

Then 4 hours staring into the abyss on the couch, and then bed.

It’s a full life…

Oh look it’s majestic floor beast trying to tempt me into the belly rub trap.

I don’t remember buying that:

I have run out of plastic doohickeys, so I cannot continue installing foil board. In even worse news I can’t get anymore till Monday.

Such a shame as I was really enjoying being up a ladder with sweat streaming in my eyes.

One of my better purchases: a portable pressure washer that you can just use a bucket of water instead of a hose.

When you spend a few minutes looking for your glasses so you can read the tape measure; I think it’s time for a coffee.

Stinking hot day making it uncomfortable to put the next layer of ceiling insulation in.

What’s a bet as soon as I am finished we will get an unseasonable cold snap?

Curses, foil-boarded again!

Things it would have been handy to have 10 jobs ago. The roof pitch on a template the width of a sheet of plywood and gyprock
November 18, 2025 at 3:14 AM
All the ceiling battens are finally installed. Surprisingly complicated for something that is just nailing sticks to something.

Oh and I spent 800 dollars on plywood this morning…

It was the plate of my jimny. Once I don’t need a ute anymore it will go back on a small car.
