My partner streamed Spore a few years ago. Every time the game generated a texture, it would show the actual texture being generated over top of the game but only on the stream and only if OBS was set to Game Capture. Maybe there's a clue in how Spore does its thing?

I use Mint because I use Mint. I run Blender, Aseprite, Inkscape, and play Cyberpunk 2077, Helldivers 2, and Final Fantasy XIV with no issue. There are a few big games that specifically disallow Linux like, League of Legends and Fortnight. Most major distros should run all these the same.

You might get a lot of people recommending Linux and telling you to use a myriad of different distros. It's easy to get overwhelmed (people have OPINIONS). My advice is to just pick one of the popular ones as those have the most community support. E.g. Mint, Fedora, Manjaro, etc.
