That’s one of my favorite Voyager episodes! Not talked about much, but I thought it was very cool and different, and B’Elanna always carries a plot well.

Usually when that happens to me I have a moment of panic and deep grief, then think “I’m free” and blissfully go about my life. 😂

If you can’t think of a quick story-focused answer, look them dead in the eye and say “I need the money.” Will probably make them laugh, and at least diffuse the awkwardness you’re feeling? 😅

The way I consider writing advice/taking writing courses definitely changed when I realized that authors who are struggling to sell books are often advised to make money selling writing how-tos. It doesn’t automatically make them unhelpful, but they might not have much more insight than I do.

I don’t think anyone’s claiming that the loudest voices back then didn’t hate the prequels, just that there were a lot of us who loved them and thought we were the only ones. There’s always been a legion of fans who love them, we just didn’t find each other or talk about it much until more recently.

I was wondering if that’s why Jackson looked pretty cheerful after the failed conversion—maybe he’d been doing the math and assuming the Bills would march down the field, kick a field goal and win anyway.
