~ is mid compared to the first book in the series. The ending especially (not cause it was sad but it def lacking something) didn't live up to my expectations. Istg it could've been so much better if not for the ending (I'm talking about crow's pov).

I'm rating it a 4.25. If you want to read a gothic-sapphic book (romance is barely there tho) with cannibalism as a trope, then here it is. TW: gore, too much details about crushing an eyeball.

Vanishing World by Sayaka Murata [will be released on April 15] is a sci-fic novel about a futuristic world where copulation is considered a taboo. And reproduction is done artificially. It was as unhinged as her other novels. The ending will make you throw up. Scary as hell. Loved it!

Gothictown by Emily Carpenter is a novel of the Southern Gothic genre. It touches on the subject of the impact of the 2020 pandemic. We also get to read about the impact of war on women and children as well as how class distinction played a role in determining their fate.
