People in trouble don't want their friends and family to feel the same pain. Their internal dialogue tells them not to be a burden or that there're other people in worse conditions with better attitudes towards life. This drives them to self-isolation.

1/2 Pedialyte, 1/2 club soda (or Topo Chico), and ice. That's the recipe for "Dad's Magic Coke" that helps with upset stomachs. My kids believe in it 100%.

One of my favorite side projects is photographing the Irreverent Warriors Silkies Hikes. They are for Veterans with the mission of stopping self isolation and thus hopefully stopping suicide.
