In not being as active on socials and pulling back from some other things I’ve been putting my energy elsewhere. Here’s some stuff I’ve made this last month. You can find me on Instagram as @/legacystudiodesigns

I’ve been quieter here as I’ve been in one hell of a chronic migraine flare so I’ve been avoiding screens a bit more and been doing other things.

And, may have accidentally started a business. If you’re on IG give @/legacystudiodesigns a follow. #LegacyStudioDesigns #Beadwork #AntlerJewelry

This old girl is perfectly imperfect just like me. She’s headed with me Spring Equinox ceremonies after my son and I spend the day at fish camp. #HandDrum #BearClanThings #MommaBear #NotSoBabyBear #SpringEquinoxCeremony

Him and his brother are excellent migraine buddies. Took this one at 5 am when he was being sweet and loving cause he knew I was in pain.

I don’t have pictures of it in bowl; however, it’s the jar on the far left. It’s pretty delicious. He always sells out when he offers it.

Credit @lbikos.bsky.social for the picture.

Did I “threaten” to put my child in a headlock if he didn’t give me more kimchi? I might have. He then laughed at me, reminded me he’s four inches taller and I won with my stare.

In other news, my son makes amazingly delicious food.

And, I need to buy more and perhaps a bigger jar of kimchi.

I had the opportunity to go to Six Nations to for a viewing of YINTAH. Which is a documentary showcasing how Wet’suwet’en people asserted their sovereignty by occupying their territory, resisting colonization and delaying the construction of Coastal GasLink‘s pipeline. /1

Respectfully, don’t be a Gail.

I have very little tolerance for this sort of behaviour. Less so when they’re clearly less educated on the issue, when I have expended time/energy to educate, then the “angry Indigenous woman” trope is weaponized painting herself as a victim when she’s causing harm.

They’re so cute. Mine are a little more dramatic. And, invasive 🤣 But people with Frenchie’s know not to expect personal space from the little velcro dogs.

Some folx just need to listen and learn not take up space. Or, at least take a hint. I have been kind and generous with my time and gentle but direct with my words; however, this individual made the death of a 14 year MMIW about her, her child, and non Indigenous folx on the whole.

I’m exhausted.

Well, seeing thus at my polling station seemed fitting. #LdnOnt #OnPoli #OntarioElection #ElectionDay2025

Well, we may not have made it to the language event in Fort Eerie…

The tire on my car effectively exploded on the 403. The CAA tow truck driver was fabulous but the dispatcher provided him with the wrong address for the shop. And, she sent us to a place actually closes at noon on Saturday’s. /1

Sleeping with French Bulldogs in the winter just hits different. They’re cuddly dogs to begin with but even more so right now. I say this as one is laying alongside my thigh paws wrapped around it and the other is tucked up my ribs with his head on my shoulder. Both under the electric blanket.

“It’s always time for my sarcasm…”

#LdnOnt go see Rosanna Deerchild’s The Secret to Good Tea directed by Renae Morriseau at The Grand. Run, don’t walk.

When I was in Alaska we saw a momma with a calf. Their beauty almost made me forget how deadly they can be. I was very thankful we were in a larger sized boat that’s for sure 🤣

My son, Bear, made a pickerel fish fry just like my Uncle taught him for the first time since his passing in September tonight. Which is funny cause I’ve been thinking about him all day. If he was here we’d be talking politics and the state of the world. I miss his reassurances and words of wisdom.

Oh it’s perpetual 🤣 He’s a pretty expressive little dude. I suspect probably more than most dogs because of his hearing disability (he’s deaf).

This is what we’re resorting to because someone really really hates the cold and fights going out. He actually hits my hands when I sign that it’s time to go for a walk.

It’s round dance seasonnnnn! Spent the night with my sis, Storm and my little nibling Nimkii at Wampum Learning Lodge in #LdnOnt dancing with community and being loved on by a 2 year old who now can fully say AunTEE (not just Tee) 😭 And, you bet I love having that favourite auntie status.

The “to read” pile and the book that I pulled off @daanis.ca’s duplicate pile that is a super compelling read - especially right now.

I’m curious what are others reading and/or listening to. Cause listening is valid. I often listen to books (and podcasts) on audible when I’m doing admin work.

My baby girl, my niece came home today as she’s in town. And, we were amused to discover we’re essentially wearing the same outfit.
