Make sure that everyone understands this--illegally detaining people and then using them as pawns to get other prisoners freed is not a victory of any sort. It is not "Trump playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers." It is both illegal and immoral.

What I am saying is that Trump is the one who wants us to believe that the undocumented population is largely made up of violent criminals, thus necessitating rapid and massive deportation that requires that things like probable cause and due process be ignored.

Given the infinitesimally small number of immigrants that are violent criminals, there is no possibility of there being mass deportations, at least if that is supposedly the target. This whole "we're protecting the people" claim has been bogus from the very start.
