Still looking for a person to do a PhD in my lab at University of Québec in Chicoutimi (UQAC), starting between now and mai 2026. Feel free to contact me to inquire on the project and the condition of admission. A really neat project on influence of thermal barriers on brook trout genetic.

A little treat today with a morning out of the office, sampling Threespine sticklebacks in Kenogamie lake with students of the lab. Great success and weather! They will be used in a great project with @ecoevoevoeco.bsky.social, @gehaines.bsky.social & many more!

Merci à Outlook 360 pour cette option tout à fait inutile. Je m'en tiendrai aux options déjà intégrées et qui ne me limite pas à 1 PDF par mois! 😅

The most wonderful time of the year, the #SundayFishSketch and #25DaysofFishmas crossover!
This week, I guessed our mystery fish was the Pirate Perch, a fish charismatic little fellow!

These two pictures were taken 24 hours appart (this is my daily walking commute, at the entry of the campus), fall in Québec is a very surprising season!

Wow, so much new people and familliar faces! May be that's the new influx this place needed. (small brookies for no particular reason :) )

I will try to be more active here. To launch this, here a new fosh illustration I did, a fantail darter (Etheostoma flabellare), and some reference pictures I took.

This week #SundayFiskSketch is still a mystery #25DaysOfFishmas mystery fish, the super long-lived (as old as 112yrs) Black Buffalo, a GL native fish, important food source and undervalued fish (subject to wasteful bowfishing). A very fun challenge!

Late but on time #SundayFishSketch, I could not miss the #25DayOfFishmas crossover. The Threespine Stickleback was the mystery fish, a hardy and fun little fish.

Every year I ask to have the Christmas tree after my birthday (8th), every years the kids tell me my request is denied 😅

Well hello Bluesky, I don't know what to hope, but I'm glad to see some familiar (virtual) faces. Like this cute Fantail Darter, I'll stay a bit still and see what is going on! 😅 #newaccount
