Might want to take this down and send the author to whatever decent J school remains in this era.

This administration is trying to start a civil war. They would happily ignite it in Portland. I’m very afraid for your city and for all of us. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

AI tutors and other tech supported education — always fail. No one becomes fluent from a linguistic tech solution. Connection/context builds language, math... Kids & adults learn thru play & connection. Tie our economy FULLY to human care. $€£¥ value for caretaking solves ALL global social probs.

@jonfavs.bsky.social listening to Offline & wish for the umpteenth x that someone would posit valuing Human Carers as the replacement for job disruption. Early childhood to senior care — are NOT replaceable by tech. Sure, tech tries, but touch/connection are the most important thing humans need.

Wouldn’t be protection enough. They are using big deadly force. Let’s be honest about how bad this is. These kidnappings are barbaric bad.

It must really be very hard for you. However could you stay jolly being constantly reminded of THOSE people? I can only imagine how you must struggle to avoid such upset!

Thoughts on the ubiquity of “tip jar” payment requirements for short fiction and poetry submissions to magazines? As former print magazine publisher (AllTheArtStL.com) who worked hard to fund through grants and ads, I find it pretty offensive. I paid our art writers no less that $100 for articles.

My current concern: the call for support has been constant. Is this the emergency? If so, I don’t think anyone (including me) is able to recognize it as such.

We are acculturated to a degree of catastrophe that makes it difficult to understand when there is a vital concern we need to react to.

All of the children exposed to this horror will have lifelong trauma from the experience. They are creating a new class of mental health crisis.

Yay! More extreme medieval style roadside poverty to encourage scared families with full bellies to install ever more high tech security systems!

Education, roads, wildfires, soil and water safety… I mean, who really needs em? This is what we voted for. We must love feudal era cosplay. Maybe a wealthy lord who no longer pays taxes will cover some school lunches?

Good analysis, I sent it to my dad. The quickness of my fellow Center-to-Left voters in believing whatever the Right tells us we are doing/have done is just one of the crazy-making dynamics of our time. We are so so not in control of the narrative.
