I used to drum a lot but now I teach drums a lot and think about band a lot instead ⚜️🧢🌃
MPA candidate, got a BA in environmental studies.
I also enjoy playing video games, mostly Nintendo games, and a little bit of photography.
We really should have beaten Buffalo and Ball State…

I made a map because in my mind a state capital should be a major city in the state but then there’s things like Harrisburg, PA. I know there’s lots of reasons for a city to grow or become the capital but like what’s up with Olympia? Why is Washington’s capital the 23rd largest city in the state?

Reposting with these maps from Paris. Every major city that has done this has seen more benefits than costs. NYC has other transit options, why would it be any different than London or Paris.
I’d expect public opinion on it to continue to rise over time.

I took some pictures yesterday, mostly of open class though. As it started getting dark I put the camera away and just started hanging out and watching drums. I had a great time. But one of my last photos was this banger of golden hour CapBass. No editing on this one, it looked so good as is.

This is the last example I have. While this came out in 2020 and work on an album usually takes longer than that, I’m convinced that Monotony and From the Inside are pandemic songs. It’s also been my new music obsession for a few weeks now

This was not JMPB’s first album after the pandemic but it was the first that was written in the wake of it. This one is very introspective. The feeling that the world is ending and you’re stuck in it. Quite dark and heavy
Johnny Manchild and the Poor Bastards - Rapture Waltz

Enter Shikari went the exact opposite direction. To them the image of the pandemic was the fire lilly, a lone survivor of the desolation. It’s an album that’s much more hopeful on humanity. I really thought the Muse vibe was going to be common but it wasn’t
Enter Shikari - A Kiss for the Whole World

The visuals of the pandemic to Muse and Five Iron Frenzy were that of fire and societal collapse. These bands came out of covid more cynical and angry, so they made albums that are largely filled with protest songs
