The most recent ones are pretty good, by and large, to be fair. They don't reach the heights of the classics, but they're generally not bad at all.

This was not mine, and I apologise for reposting this one here, but also I absolutely don't.

I'm not going to read your ChatGPT logs, go and make some friends who actually exist.

The thing is, at this point, it's difficult to escape the conclusion that Starmer and Co aren't just appeasing the far right, but genuinely believe crackdowns, trans hate and migrant hate are good governance.

You're right, and it also disturbs me that it's very much not clear where his enormous wealth came from. It feels like that should be something everyone's screaming about as well.

Oh, I grant you that it's mainly the policies, but the comms are absolutely dire as well. Number 10 really is just holistically rubbish right now.
November 19, 2025 at 3:55 PM
The thing is they probably would be an okay comms team if it was still the 90s somehow, but they don't know how to engage with social media *at all*. To the extent that it's almost negligent.

My wife works in comms, I've seen what she does and, let me tell you, it's a phrase that absolutely would not be written by a *good* comms team.

I'll write to my MP. And also switch to a different moisturiser because I'm pretty sure that's something to do with it in my case.

Solidarity. I am forty two and somehow also have one on my face.

I sort of think a confidence vote is unlikely but a change of PM isn't almost certain. They're not going to call an election when they're this far behind in the polls, but Starmer's inner circle are completely disconnected from the rest of the party to an almost insane degree.

AI evangelists have spent years now telling me, a person with a master's degree in creative writing, that their chatbots can help me with my writing. I'm going to say whatever I please about it in whatever tone I choose.
November 17, 2025 at 9:32 PM
Well then how about making two versions, one with AI built in and another without it, for competent people?

I don't think it's particularly complicated to be honest, Starmer and his team dislike, among other groups, immigrants. Once you understand that they're sincere in their horrible beliefs it all makes perfect sense.

I watched the speech as he delivered it. The whole context does not help and does not excuse the racism. He was a lawyer for decades and an MP for years, he knew the importance of tone and of content, it was a racist speech and it demonised immigrants.
November 17, 2025 at 12:41 PM
I think it's fair to say that someone who describes immigrants being here as a result of a 'squalid period in our history' who are 'turning us into an island of strangers' does, in fact, view immigrants as having less inherent worth than people born here.

True, true. Was also kind of heartening to see that BP had called for help from other groups and still only managed to get a couple of dozen people out.
