I think the RF/WL incident was unfortunate and played on the confidence of the band as a result. There are people out there that don't care anyway because the music is a kind of background noise to their social activities (present company excluded ofc).

I think Andy needs to stop apologising for playing some songs too, which just encourages some people to cling to the idea that OMD fans make up the minority at a uh... * checks notes* OMD gig. 😑

It's more a certain demographic have disposable income and feel like this is what such people do in any given week. You could swap out the band for other similar acts and see things play out the same way.

I saw footage of Nottingham and that was just ridiculous. People paying over the odds for front seats and then just milling around like they were lost.

This was chiefly after the Nottingham debacle.

There's always been a percentage of oddball fans in the OMD community who aren't actually fans. In this case, they essentially dictated the setlist. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Great event and talk, but then got strange as I had to forego speaking to Andy post-event as I was obliged to keep some oddball occupied. 😐
