The Committee also highlighted the indefinite detention of asylum seekers in the Kareç immigration centre and allegations of pushbacks at borders.

Experts noted that 57% of all detainees are held in pre-trial detention, one of the highest rates in Europe, with such detention being applied even in minor offences.
