Vinyl buying gig-goer and covers-band drummer. I'm waiting to look through that box of records so hurry up, if you wouldn't mind.
Some random CD #weekendsingles

The CD singles have a very different feel to the vinyl singles, as they're pretty much all what I was listening to and buying (or grabbing from the pile of promos at work) *at the time* rather than stuff I might have bought since.

A lot of the records are still out of reach, but here are a few random 7" #weekendsingles that I could grab.

I really didn't get Hail to the Thief at the time but I returned to it earlier this year and I think it's a great album now. It came out at a time when I didn't give albums I wasn't struck by immediately much time. These live versions are also fantastic.

Very much looking forward to this @moolakiiclubai.bsky.social evening of silent films soundtracked by some lovely live electronic music in Birkenhead. I've been to a couple of these before. Highly recommended.

A decent 10k run this morning, with this as the soundtrack.

The wife and the girls went for their haircut which meant that I was at a loose end near some charity shops. Found this. Quite a bit of Georgio Moroder on this, which is never a bad thing.

That sticker's not coming off though. Not without half of the cover coming with it.

I still have limited access to the records due to some building work so here are a few random 12" #weekendsingles from the ones I can reach.

With the exception of the 4 tracks on a couple of very limited 7"s, I think I might have the whole of the @warringtonruncorn.com catalogue on physical. I think. Unless I've missed something. Which I probably have.

Really liking those two latest CDs.

Just giving the CD a first listen. Very good indeed.

I've got limited access to the records at the moment due to some building work but here are a few #weekendsingles I could reach on the 7" shelf.

Is having Gary Numan's name put on the back of your car a thing these days?

Look what arrived from the @castlesinspace.bsky.social sub club this week. Absolutely delighted with this delivery.

Went to see Lord Finesse in Manchester last night. He was done by 10pm. That's my kind of weeknight gig.

@thebeths.bsky.social were absolutely magnificent at Albert Hall in Manchester last night

Very much looking forward to giving this new @audioobscura.bsky.social tape its first listen tonight

T La Rock. Produced by Todd Terry. 1989. Sleeping Bag Records. All indicators that this is going to be great.

It really isn't. I'd love to know what exactly happened here.

Been back to that charity shop. Twice. These were either 3 for £1 or 5 for £1, depending on the day. Haven't had a haul like this in a long time.

I've got that News at Ten, but it's unplayable. No idea what the previous owner thought they were doing with it.

Came across this while I was digging through a box of CDs. Genuinely looking forward to listening to this 20 year old Scouse house mix.

Another dive into the box of CDs for some 90s #weekendsingles

The guys in Fulcrum records were always very patient with a 14 year old me taking tapes in of stuff I'd taped off pirate radio. They'd put it on and almost always go and grab a 12" for me. An amazing selection for such a tiny shop. I still miss that place.

Guessing this was bought sometime around 1999/2000. It's moved here from France and lived in at least two flats and two houses that I'm aware of and, I reckon, probably lived with the in laws pre-2001. We don't use it anymore, it just lives with us. I do hope it's the oldest thing in the cupboard.
