Agree 100% although I would note that it was the Columbia administration who fumbled; Columbia faculty have been warning our leadership of the perils of appeasement but alas we have been ignored.

Columbia leaders were never up to the task. They were always focused on self survival and protecting their careers, not the integrity of the institution. I used to work there. What happened was predictable.
