The new infrastructure will further propel our work towards deciphering antibiotic resistance and microbial virulence and discovering new antimicrobials.

Grateful for this continued support. And thanks for current and past lab members for their great work! Exciting times ahead!

Also excited about co-creating new potential antimicrobial solutions inspired by Indigenous remedies, where we uncovered promising growth inhibitory and biofilm prevention and eradication activity of several Indigenous remedies against MRSA under wound infection-like conditions.

I’m very proud of this collaboration, which provides a roadmap that inspires similar interdisciplinary collaborations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous researchers to tackle other healthcare priorities and diseases.

The antimicrobial potential of some extracts was only observed under wound infection-mimetic conditions, a proof-of-concept that screening under infection-mimetic conditions reveals novel activity undetected under standard conditions.
