Both my paternal grandparents were "financial immigrants", from Ireland. Grandad joined the British Army in 1935. 81 years ago today, he was wounded at Oosterbeek & became a POW. He survived, & served until 1969. Dad joined the Royal Navy in 1956 & served until 1986.

Here I am again, Operation No 20 on my left leg. It's frankly ridiculous now.
Different ward, better view, mainly because there's not a bloke masturbating in the room opposite which has to be an improvement. Removing the spacer in my leg, trying for a rebuild today. Wish me luck....

After 4 months in hospital with MRSA,sepsis, & some rather nasty surgery I am grateful to my oldest friends for looking after me while I recover.
I'm extremely grateful that this is the view from my bed for last 2 days. Pretty good medicine in my opinion.

After 4 months in hospital with MRSA,sepsis, & some rather nasty surgery I am grateful to my oldest friends for looking after me while I recover.

I've been in hospital since September 26th. Today, I finally got discharged. I'm back in 5 weeks to finish the reconstruction of my left knee. At the moment I have a temporary joint in my leg. I want to be out if hospital for the National Day of Reflection at @covidmemorialwall.bsky.social but am

I've been in hospital for 17 weeks this Thursday. Last week, my new @vizcomic.bsky.social edition of the Profanisaurus arrived. Literally the best thing to happen to me since September 26th last year

Been in hospital since nce the end of September. I've lost a shocking amount of weight, and my leg just doesn't work anymore. It's been a tiring and draining experience

After 71 days, several surgeries, 3 heart attacks, MRSA, sepsis, and a chest infection, I'M GETTING DISCHARGED FROM HOSPITAL TOMORROW!
Thank you #NHS. I won't walk without assistance again, but I am alive. For that I am grateful
