After four months, DC decided cuddles are cool. (Blankets help.)

Meniscus calcification with lateral extrusion, not bone/ligament pain. Extrusion is usually caused by a tear in the meniscus & depending on severity, i may be looking at another surgery.

At the very least, i'll finally have an MRI on my left knee.

Still trying to figure out the logic behind the pulmonologjst giving me Flonase (gave me nosebleeds in the past) & then taking me off Flovent & Ventilyn to put me on Symbicort. My asthma is fine--no longer mild, thanks to Covid--but it's well-managed. I hope going off the Flovent doesn't undo that.

Lucky me, getting to live with these messy jerks.

Surgery's been waitlisted.

Balls.

Oh, and the OB said my fibroids are not prolasping, just my cervix. Apparently, it's something that happens when you're overweight. Funny that it didn't 40 pounds ago.

And because surgery's in Nanaimo, I have to stay overnight. I haven't had a hospital stay since 2006 in another country. Balls.

Signed the consent forms for surgery. Wait time approximately two to three months.

At least the OB gave me some pain meds & Zofran; I might actually make it till then.

On standby to see the OB tomorrow.

And my GP is more excited than I am about future surgery.

So, my GP will be discussing my biopsy results, not the OB. I'm interested to hear what he'll say when I tell him the ER doc told me the results Saturday & that the OB's office will not call me back. Maybe prolapse isn't a big deal to them, but it's interfering with too much.

MRI only showed fibroids, not polyps, plus diverticulosis (no surprise, 'cause genetics) and degenerative disc disease in my lower back. Next year marks 40 years since i was diagnosed with scoliosis & nobody other than my physiotherapist and chiropractor take my back pain seriously.

I know i needed the endometrial biopsy. But damn, I didn't expect to still be dizzy some 15 hours later. I tried coffee, ice cream, fresh air, loud music, and not driving like a maniac, and I still needed Drew to drive me half the way home.

Haven't heard a word from my mom since she left, aside from asking if she'd left her tablet. I know she was less than thrilled with me that last week. Non-stop migraines, sore neck & expected me to drive her to Colwood right after physio. Uh, nope. Pain > shopping & she threatened to take my cat.

Kinda wondering whether Dad will get me the CD set for the Beatles Anthology 4. He bought me the sets for 1-3, but granted, I was in high school at the time.

Side note: around the time the Beatles Anthology aired, there was a History of Rock-n-Roll series. Wish I'd gotten both VHS sets.

The horn scene in Little Miss Sunshine still makes me cackle.

My parents had a VW bus in the 1980s & yes, the horn would randomly go off, as it was connected directly into the battery.

Mom's visiting at the end of the month--in part to meet DC & also to do some sewing for my pending great-niece.

All I've asked her to bring is stuff from Trader Joe's, pizza rolls, Tillamook cheese slices & the pre-made, unsweetened dark roast coffee, plus anything she wants us to cook for her.

I think my chronic pain baseline is changing again. Late 2023, it was 6; having Covid hurt worse than knee pain, so then it dropped to 5.

With my ankle, wrist & back acting up on top of my knee pain, then with polyps coming back & two types of fibroids...let's just say, today has hovered around 8.

Ok, how can someone be a professional-enough chef to end up on Chopped but then turns around & deep fries cauliflower? Roast or sauté it; don't hide it in breading or batter, then drown it in oil. Ruins the flavor every time.

The more I deal with our health care system, it's further reiterated i took much of my health care in the States for granted.

I either wait 20 years for a knee replacement or find an ortho who specializes in PFJ replacement.

Had I stayed in Washington, Dr. Wood would've replaced it a decade ago.

I'd wanted to have a 45th birthday party, since I turned 40 during the pandemic & Dree didn't really want people over. Now he's changed his mind & planned a joint birthday party...for which another DJ tried to solicit work.

Drew's a DJ & other DJs are coming. Why the hell would we hire that guy?

First, it was razor clams. And then chefs on Chopped overcooking bison steaks.

"I've never worked with bison before, but..." never ends well.

DC aka Darn L. Cat. (His rescue name was Darnell.)

Watching an older episode of Chopped & trying not to cringe at how none of the chefs know how to properly clean, prep, or cook razor clams.
