Cut flowers are an environmental abomination. Especially when they are brought from someone far, by plane. Their carbon footprint is humongous. And for what? Just to die after a couple of days.

I don't think you need to say anything right now. Just wait until it's January 21st and 22nd, and 31st and the prices are at best staying the same.
