Tension is rising within Nigeria’s extractive sector as the Miners Association of Nigeria (MAN) strongly opposes the recent call by northern governors and traditional rulers for a six-month suspension of mining activities across the region. The proposed ban, according to the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and the Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council, is aimed at curbing illegal mining and reducing the flow of funds to criminal groups involved in banditry and kidnapping.

It is good we are here. It is a privilege that we enjoy the nature around us. We are the list worthy, yet we are the favorite. We will take our time to enjoy this while it lasts, of course there are hurdles but they won't be the reason while we die not smiling at the pleasure nature gives us.
