Thats why i use Handbrake! It's made for ripping movies from discs and admittedly the interface is slightly janky but im shocked more ppl dont know about this.
It can convert individual files too, turned a lot of mkv's into mp4's to play on older hardware.

If anyone is having troubles listening to @sexfm.live from their website due to region locking from the built in player, third party players like Shortwave have no troubles with playing back the stream with metadata included!
