Look after yourselves. When the chips are down, your employer will not. You’ll be gone. That extra hour, that cancelled holiday, that missed day out with your child? Stop and think again before you prioritise work over that.

I’ve been diving into the world of emulation and low level programming lately. Seeing efforts out there of people creating things like this chip 8 emulator, in a language I’m more familiar with like golang has been a huge help.

Props to this guy: github.com/bradford-ham...

Eugenicists building disease registries? Fuck off with that. Now’s a great time for software engineers to have a look at the ACM Code of Ethics. Let it be a tool if you ever need to tell your boss to also fuck off with building something like this. #software #ethics

DOGE has been seen before, the UK called it austerity.

It did not promote growth, it did not lower national debt (debt actually rose) and deep cuts to welfare, health, defence, education etc has resulted in a stagnant economy that only works for the mega rich.

You can’t say this on LinkedIn so maybe I’ll say it here

I think my job and my industry absolutely sucks ass (tech)

Gone are the days where tech was truly exciting to me

Today on LinkedIn:
Guy who already types fast forces himself to learn DVORAK keyboard layout because it’s (apparently) more efficient.

Other news: I happen to find intravenous drips a more efficient way of staying hydrated, so now I’ve decided to stab myself every day instead of drinking.

I’m really enjoying Zero Day on Netflix.

A bit of a commentary on the dynamics of power, liberty, democracy and how fragile it is.

Great performance from De Niro too.

Redhat:
How about we redistribute our own flavour of Kubernetes!?

Great idea, let’s make it:
- More difficult to use
- Often impossible to install helm charts from the wider community
- that no containers can run as root, but let’s be weird and force them all to run with a GID of 0
