Would you not agree that the most effective way for Polanski to protect the environment would be to become prime minister? And that to do so would require him replacing Labour?

While I largely approve of what Ed Milliband has been trying to do, he is one of very few cabinet ministers pushing in the right direction. Furthermore his latest AR7 offshore wind budget has been terrible.

Subscription style funding ties you into ratings, and the best of the BBC is its reporting on things that may not necessarily be financially profitable. The BBC is a globally recognised and trusted brand, and this would decimate that trust.
