fwiw I thought Split Fiction was decent enough with some clever set pieces, but the dialogue and character writing was rip-my-ears-off-like-van-Gogh-tier.

as much as I hoped for this, that doesn't mean I wasn't incredibly nervous about it... I'm no actor. but damn this group of excellent people made it much easier to step out of myself completely. got a new hobby, made three new amazing pals, and had a blast with one of my closest ones. good times.

hardware upgrades are all great (even the LCD is surprisingly nice), but the Joy-Cons are still an ergonomic nightmare and the dock lacks USB-C ports. it'll also live and die by exclusives more than any Nintendo console to date... long-term far cheaper options out there, esp. if you play handheld.

first impressions generally are positive. menus are quick, docked looks stunning in HDR, and the handheld screen is a very nice LCD (still not OLED tier, sadly). biggest early gripe is how easy it still feels it'd be to scratch it when placing in the dock. looking forward to rest Mario Kart World!
