But for me we are far from trust: too easy to impersonate someone, use false documents, spoof email, copy&paste pictures/stories... even AI has become good at it.
So for me it's through organisations I know, on the spot/site or to (real) friends only.

"Is the issue behavior or is it that they're lying?" =>for me it's interrelated as if behavior is close to scam, trust is difficult. But you explained the reason (urgency, no rules in arabic...). I have read more => I will be less critical, but trust is not here yet.

Just a clarification: a moderation list is effective only for people using it; so an account with no follower will have no traction, no-one will use the lists therefore no blocking happens.
PS: I find list makers quite unique &positive to BlueSky, so long as you accept shit happens (+you can report)

Just a clarification: a moderation list is effective only for people using it; so an account with no follower will have no traction, no-one will use the lists therefore no blocking happens.

Ahmad wrote 185 messages in 2 days asking for donations on unrelated discussions. That's agressive spam, that's how people will feel it and Bluesky was right to label him.

=> you have to realize that 99.9% of those accounts asking for gofundme are fake/scam; the money will end in a con-artist's pocket, who is taking advantage of the terrible situation in Gaza at the expense of real Palestinians. Don't fall for it.
