Personally as a modder myself I would say yes, it shows they’re working on improving a lot of the features, and personally I love porting to snapshots and new updates to see all the changes, even tho it can be irritating sometimes when a lot of stuff breaks

We might get something kinda similar in the far future but it’ll be changed to how Minecraft Java’s system works

Yep! 100% imo we’re getting data-driven items and closer to data-driven entities this year, maybe even data-driven blocks

They are focusing a lot on datapacks and commands and recently working on rewriting rendering stuff to work more similar to Vulkan instead of how it’s been until now.

Minecraft itself doesn’t have mod support, that is the role of mod loaders. So mojang ain’t Donna improve the mod support infrastructure, they’re working on stuff for the datapack side instead, like we have the item components, mod variant jsons, etc, and we’re getting more and more.
