It's because we don't want our expressions of grief or sympathy to be interpreted as an endorsement of what that person has said, or what they represent. We'd like it if we could say, "I'm sorry Jon Doe died" without it also meaning we sign on to every idiot thing they once said. But we can't.

That doggo would be covered in lipstick if it was mine.

I'm IN bed at 7:30. (I do get up at 2:30a.m., true. None of these ridiculous sleep/wake up times are in my control.) Time changes mess with my life for weeks after. You're not the only one.

Not doubting this--actually seems to be something of an underestimate, you ask me, but how do we know anything at all about how much stuff exists?
November 20, 2025 at 12:10 PM
Excellent question, but I think the House, Senate, President bill to release the files was not going to be the conduit that got them released anyway. What the bill does do, however, is provide some kevlar when the information is released other ways, showing the problems with the "official" versions.

I think he yelled that at her on AF One, but I know what you mean.

The regard I had for media was already low, but their refusal to stand for one of their own because they were afraid or worried about access or worried their employers would be retaliated against is about as low as it can go now.

He has no conscience, no concern for others, is delusional, narcissistic, thin-skinned--and, without the shield that money gives him, deeply, deeply odd. If he didn't have all the money in the world, he'd be written off like a weird uncle who picks his nose at the dinner table. A sociopath.

I love Adam Kinzinger. Liz Cheney and Joe Walsh, too. Can't help it. I'm a simp for politicians who acknowledge they were wrong, apologize, and try to make things right. But, yeah. Even so. Only an idiot would forget who they were in the past.

There can't be many who think that MTG's 180 is anything like permanent. We know she's a political opportunist--like every Republican currently serving. Ted Cruz. Marco Rubio. JD Vance. Lindsey Graham. They've all said something vicious about Trump and are slobbering sycophants now. We expect it.

I thought it was just me. That remark was like a punch in the face. But the response to him saying it has been profoundly disappointing--another punch in the face.

Why didn't her colleagues defend her? Why isn't Bloomberg defending her? Trump is trash, but why do we let him take us down with him? He's indecent, but why does the media not even stand up for their own?

Right you are. Then Obama compounded the insult by giving the misogynistic fucker a job in his cabinet.

You "miss" the commercials? Try an "ad-lite" subscription to Netflix or Hulu or YouTube or-- I don't know, any other platform. Absolutely peppered with ads, bordering on unwatchable. All of them, completely enshittified.

I've watched maybe 200 Chinese dramas, over the last ten years. I can now say "thank you", "I'm sorry", "Kneel", "It doesn't matter", "Stop!","I love you", "Let's go", "No" and "Your majesty", and "I will kill you!" In a hundred years, I can translate "I've had so much sake and beer."

When the NY Times publishes a staggeringly idiotic op-ed, as they will, 5'll get you 10 that it was written by Ross Douchehat.

An accomplishment worth rewarding, to be sure, but how bad is the vampire problem in your 'hood, you need that much garlic?
November 7, 2025 at 3:37 PM
Why'd he do that? Why? No one in the room thinks he's an MD, so it's not like someone would ask him what they should do. It's like he had to pee urgently, and a guy fainting was just the excuse he was looking for to get out of the room.

You know how, sometimes, someone'll write or say something that so accurately captures the current zeitgeist, it's like a cosmic gong sounds somewhere? This. This is one of those remarks.

A thing that impresses me (not in a good way) is how MAGA continues to prevail, fuck reality. MAGA responds to a loud thumping like this by claiming election fraud and media hoax. They ignore what reality tells them and change nothing. So, no, no end to the government shutdown.

This is really acidic. I don't think it's good for your teeth and gums.

Have to agree with him about that. Terrible picture of him, and a perfect representation. I love it so much.

That size Labubu is only $119 (approx.) Not worth keeping, really.

Even when I was a kid elventy nine years ago in 6th grade and was learning about Columbus "discovering" American, it struck me as odd. I understood that finding it was new to him, but that it was ridiculous to frame it like it didn't exist until he "found" it.

I don't know what this means. Would they ordinarily applaud? Or is it normal for them to be silent?

The hell does "mass" affluent mean?
