Sheppard doesn't seem to be getting enough credit for how well he played Shai today, the play you described was a standout but honestly, every second he was on SGA it felt like he played it as close to perfect as possible.

For me it comes down to whether he's willing to be bench cover. If that's the deal and the salary matches that, I can see the logic.
Not many good players are going to be available that are willing to take that role, he may well be the best "bench cover" midfielder available...
