The hidden pumpkin.

Here, little squashy. Who's a cute little guy.

Courgettes are like buses. Clearly. I've spent the spring moaning about how badly they are growing, and since the heat has come out, we're now drowning in them. No idea how many more I can eat.

Now, I think I remember the Last of Us starting from a fungal plague. Did it start in a veg patch? Not sure. Maybe. #gardening #zombieplague #fungus

Something's telling me that I should have trimmed the tomatoes 🍅 #gardening

Somewhere, amongst the leaves, there's a pumpkin. There'd better be a pumpkin, otherwise I know a plant that's getting a good talking to.

Summer. In a garden with no mowing. And the sun conveniently hides the mess 😎

Hmmm I think I need to cut back some of the tomatoes 🍅

The humble pickle. Small, but certainly mighty when it comes to speed of growth. #vegoftheday #gardening #vegetables

This is horsetail or marestail. It's a sod of a weed and, if you get it, will spread if you turn over your soil. My best advice is just keep picking it out. Like any plant it needs sunlight and, after the second year, you'll have nearly nothing popping up. #gardening #truefact #weedoftheday

Not a lot to do while I wait for the beans to grow. #novegtoday #fishing

That bean wants to grow

This tomato plant can't stop growing! Which is lucky, as it's meant to grow giant tomatoes.

#treeoftheday Red Siberian cider apple. An early flowerer in our little orchard. Now, I just need it to give me some apples.

The beans have a new home 🏡 Now they just need to avoid the slugs. And mice. And the dog.

With all this impending war stuff, and the economy as lethargic as my dog after dinner, don't forget that you can grow Swiss Chard through the winter. You'll get early leaves and loads of them. #goodtoknow #vegoftheday

A new home for the beans. Few weeks in these and, when the beds are ready, they can run free. Or stand still. Something along those lines

Three days in, and the beans are definitely on their way to awesomeness. Getting ready for a busy day by having 5 mins looking at seedlings.

Runner beans, french beans, white beans, black beans, berlotti beans. All amazing to grow. Easy and extremely rewarding...if you like beans.

If you have left over veg and herb seeds why not just mix them all up and plant in a window box or tin, and harvest when they are sprouts. That way you get a lovely sprout mix to put on salads. This one is fennel, dill, parsley and basil.

@alastaircampbell2.bsky.social does this count for #treeoftheday? Curly kale, now several years old and taller than an adult. Tree-adjacent certainly.
