Boats are highly important in Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age belief. There are numerous depictions of the sun boat guided by water birds, but this is special: Seven of originally >100 gold foil ships found in 1885 near a grave mound at Nors, Denmark.

The figurines from Early Neolithic Catalhöyük often show women. One famous example is seated on a throne-like stool and accompanied by leopards. The mother goddess? Most Catalhöyük figurines come from domestic contexts. Museum of Anatolian Civilizations Ankara.

Stephen the Great / Ștefan cel Mare was Voivode of Moldavia from 1457 to 1504. Legend has it that he swore to erect a church for every victorious battle. He had 44 churches built.

You will find coins like these frequently on Berlin flea markets. Few people know why they look the way they do. They are burnt, collected from WW II airstrike debris. Silent memories of a not so distant past.
