Albi cathedral, the inspiration for so many late 19th and early 20th century churches - Bidlake’s for example. Amazing brick exterior with delicate painted decoration within.

Cité de Carcassonne, of course mostly the work of Viollet le Duc. Unfortunately the stripes from a misguided art installation are still visible, a proposal which could not be conceived of in the UK
