My takeaway? Emotion-aware tech can be powerful—but it needs boundaries. Transparency, consent, and respect for human dignity have to guide how we build and use it. 🤖❤️

Another big concern: what if people become emotionally dependent on bots? Or worse—what if this tool gets turned on other users without consent? That’s where things get tricky. 🧵👀

Ethics were a big part of this. Is it okay for AI to judge emotions—even your own?
🧭 Utilitarianism says yes, if it helps people.
⚖️ Deontology says we shouldn’t reduce feelings to data.
I tried to balance both.

The idea came from wanting to promote emotional well-being in digital spaces. Instead of doomscrolling, what if your feed gently nudged you toward self-compassion? That’s what this bot tries to do. 🌱

The bot connects to your Bluesky account, grabs your 10 latest posts, and uses sentiment analysis to detect if your mood is trending negative. If it is, the bot sends an encouraging quote. 🧠💬

🎓 Final project thread! I built an emotion-aware bot for Bluesky that checks your recent posts and sends you motivational messages when you’re feeling down. Let me walk you through how (and why) I made it. 👇
