All this to say that while these mechanics may not make for a more compelling video game, they make the experience more immersive and make me really feel like I’m in this world on this adventure. And I think that’s one of the major appeals of Pokémon, at least to me!

That I definitely agree with! I think that there’s no one gameplay style or element that defines “Final Fantasy”, the point of the series is that each is unique from the last, it can change and be whatever it needs to be for the story it’s trying to tell 🙂‍↕️

KH2 is easily my favorite KH game, it’s an amazing experience and in my top 10 games ever made, but I also adore KH3, Days, and I enjoy KH1! I’d never want to reduce the series to only being KH2

Lack of a way to play it (my only gaming pc is an old laptop that can’t really run many modern games T-T) and a lack of time/too many games in my backlog. Once I have a way to play it i will right away though!

I think that it has a place in the series. I think we can have turn based FFs be a thing and be fun alongside both ATB and the more action rpg style, it just needs to be handled well!! Especially considering that the debatably best FF is turn based :3
