I guess everybody does, in or outside of teaching. Being unconscious is part of being human I'd have thought — when I can gather all my attention together to have such a conscious thought.

Not sure I follow. Are you fully or partially sighted? If so, I've seen very interesting work with embossed graphic organisers with touch being the point of access to their non-linear organisation.

My sympathies

That, as you know, is an enormous issue. Alignment comes from agreeing end-points/goals. Then, the acknowledgement that there are multiple routes to there. As I've been banging on recently, the term, bought in by Werner Erhard, was to counter command-&-control compliance to one way only.

Managed it despite no practice, more or less, these past two years.
