New pfis are not and deals. It maybe costs 2% more than what it costs the govt to borrow, but for that you get a hospitals built on time and budget and maintained in good condition before being handed back in 25 years. Old ones were bad (when they did facilties management) but new ones work well.

So a restaurant he goes to a lot, and he knew he wanted a burger, but he spent 17 mins looking at the menu before he went in. As people often do before they go into a restaurant. Sounds plausible...

Same basically. Bit better all round but haven't noticed anything material

Model looks thrilled to be there

Although it was still a not for profit then so not necessarily.

Exactly. It's not hard at all.

But only if tesla is worth $8trln. Which it won't be.

Right! It's so weird

Isn't the point that it's pretty uncommon? When the US finally elects a women as president that too will be noteworthy.

Old people do it as much as young too.

I don't use them myself, but predicting the end of Facebook and Instagram is brave! Meta currently earns about $100bn of profit a year (and it's been growing at 20% per year). But no rule it continues forever. And agree people may turn off from the slop and targetted ads. But who knows

But their ability to pay (and valuation) is not linked to AI, it's linked to Facebook and WhatsApp and Instagram ads. Don't disagree there is bubble in ai, but comparing it to GFC is wrong. It's more like dotcom bubble. Open AI couldn't raise debt like this, but meta can afford it.

Meta ain't sub prime. They aren't putting loads of sub prime mortgages into a box and pretending some of them are aaa. Meta cna afford the payments.

Interesting. As a side note I watched total recall the other day (1990). Set in the distant future we have colonised Mars, can implant memories etc. But haven't invented flat screen TVs, (or minaturised electronics, or have wireless communication or passport e gates!)

He wouldn't quit, but he prob would focus more on his other companies and / or put the magic robots in xai or what have you (which he owns more of). And I think if you are a tesla shareholder the hope of tesla magic robots is quite important to you.

Aren't everyone's movements in and out of the country being monitored?

Also, isn't taking social care off local govt just moving spending rather than increasing it? Can cut local grant, use council tax for other things, etc

The ft liked it general. Apparently we shouldn't be such snobs about it.

Beyond the bonkers plot twists, didactic exposition and barely developed characters, a deft storyteller is at work

I don't think they screwed up. I think it's more that they've had a good innings. 250 years for a constitution is incredibly long. But time for a new one. The idea of trying to think what some blokes in the 18th century meant as a basis for what your law should be today is nuts.

Except we don't take away the right to vote from adults who lack mental capacity. Think there are good arguments to lower it a bit. A child can be guilty of a crime at 10! But 16 a reasonable start given it's no more arbitrary than 18. make little difference but shld encourage civic responsibility
