This is a big moment for us at ECPMF.

To my Berlin friends and colleagues: I invite you to our exhibition, capturing how journalists who never meant to cover war had their paths radically changed.

We asked them: What were you planning to write about before the missiles came?
What drives a journalist before the war?
What keeps them going after everything changes?

Over the past months, we've been working on The Only Material — a deeply human exhibition about the dreams of Ukrainian journalists reshaped by war.

Join us on 26 June in Berlin.

On International Women’s Day, we want to talk about the threats women journalists face. In 2024 alone, 396 documented incidents targeted 438 women journalists in EU member states and candidate countries. The actual number is likely far higher. #IWD2025

Apart from the fact that our legal team is doing a great job, these statistics also highlight that journalism is becoming increasingly dangerous - and, in the case of legal procedures, expensive to carry out. Please remember to support independent media if you value the truth.
In 2024, ECPMF supported 30 legal cases across 23 countries - our broadest reach yet! From defamation to whistleblowing, our legal team - @fluturakusari.bsky.social & @gsrmari3.bsky.social - stood with journalists, outlets, and activists facing threats.

Legal challenges must not silence the truth.
