An appeal to the Commission to bring the Swedish infringement case on wolves before the European Court of Justice.

Sweden is ignoring the requirements of the Habitats Directive and continues hunting its small and endangered wolf population. ☹️

Despite promises & rules in place, it's “business-as-usual” re antibiotic use in animals, keeping factory farming alive.

1st report by European Medicines Agency warns of incomplete & inconsistent reporting from member states.

Mass treatment seems to be the norm.

Common cruel practices in animal farming are censored in order to maintain an idyllic perception which is deceitful.

There is extreme animal suffering in factory farms across Europe. MEPs ought to be fully aware of the REALITY.

The European Union allows surgical castration of piglets without anesthesia. Just don’t try showing a photo of it in the European Parliament.
European Parliament flinches at factory farming reality
A piglet getting castrated didn’t make the cut in a photo exhibition at the European Parliament.

🧑‍⚖️New proposal on #EndtheCageAge: hens first.
Nothing yet on other work areas.

🙂Good point by @tillymetz.bsky.social:

while the revision of #AnimalWelfare legislation is mentioned in the Vision document, it is missing references to limiting animal products and increasing plant-based foods.

How sad to see that certain people refuse to accept that bad things happen in our own back yard!

Even worse, those people turn a blind eye to suffering, just because they want to maintain the cruel industry's profits!
At a meeting of the new ‘Sustainable Livestock’ Intergroup on the issue of animal transport.

Started off swimmingly with MEP Bernhuber (EPP) implying that images of animal suffering recorded routinely by NGOs do not represent reality.

No. These images are sadly very real.

Completely agree - a shift towards more plant-based consumption is crucial for the much-needed reduction in animal numbers in farming, as well as impacting animal welfare, climate change, public health, and more 🌱

🥕 The EU’s #Agriculture & #Food vision ignores the need for dietary change.
🌿 More #PlantBased consumption is vital to cut farm animal numbers, boost #AnimalWelfare, fight #climate change and improve public #health.
💪 Bolder action is needed!
